Ultimate Expression of a Community Caring for its Own

Witzleben/Associates has enjoyed a decade-long partnership with
Halifax Health-Hospice of Volusia serving as counsel for separate
campaigns for three inpatient care centers in West Volusia
(Orange City), Southeast Volusia (Edgewater) and North Volusia
and Flagler Counties (Ormond Beach).

Honoring its long-standing commitment to providing end-of-life
care to the community, Halifax Health- Hospice of Volusia/Flagler
is building its fourth and newest Care Center in Ormond Beach.
This facility will provide a home-like setting where hospice nurses, physicians, spiritual and emotional support staff, and trained volunteers provide around-the-clock compassionate care for patients unable to remain at home. The nurturing environment offers comfort and emotional support to patients and their families as they approach end-of-life.

With each of the three campaign Halifax Health – Hospice of Volusia/Flagler sought community philanthropic partnerships. Total project costs for each new care center were in the $5.5 million to $6 million range with Halifax Health – Hospice of Volusia/ Flagler contributing 50% of the total project costs and the other half being raised in community philanthropic support. These community campaigns successfully secured the essential private support and generated cadres of compassionate volunteers giving countless hours caring for fellow citizens at their time of greatest need.

Charles Witzleben, Principal of Witzleben/Associates, was personally gratified by the compassionate care provided his father by Halifax Health – Hospice of Volusia/Flagler and is honored that a room in the new West Volusia Care Center memorializes his parents. The firm has conducted numerous hospice campaigns during the past twenty years.
