Scaled Philanthropic Initiative

With an approved strategic plan in place, the College
anticipated a large comprehensive campaign. In response to
the economic times beginning in 2008, the campaign was
eventually scaled back to a highly targeted fund raising
initiative in support of human capital. The Challenge of
Excellence campaign focused on the people and programs at
the very heart of the College. With a $60 million goal and an
initial four-year timeframe the emphasis was on four strategic
areas: Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, Faculty
Development and Support, International Learning Opportunities, and Business
and Career Preparation and Development. The Challenge of Excellence campaign had a
robust finish by raising $68.1 million, a year ahead of schedule.
